Let’s Bring Some Life to Lancaster’s Streets
Join us on April 4, 2025 to temporarily convert parking spots for cars into safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people.
Streets are for everyone:
walkers, bikers, rollers,
strollers... and cars, too.
A majority of Lancaster City is made up of historic, narrow streets and alleyways built before cars…
Yet many of our streets are dominated by cars.
This leaves less space for social interactions or green spaces.
Let's transform concrete
into community together.
Park(ing) Day is a global, public, participatory project where people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people.

DEVELOP YOUR INSTALLATION CONCEPT
You can do a ton with 160 sq. ft! After you sign up, we’ll follow up with a handy How-To Manual to help you plan your installation.
We will also host an Info Session in early 2025 where you can ask questions and get inspiration from other participants.

BUILD YOUR INSTALLATION BY APRIL 4,2025
Sign up using the form on this page. All we need is some information about your organization and an initial design concept for your installation.
We’ll take care of reserving your parking spot with the city. All you need to do is show up, set up your installation, and enjoy chatting with your neighbors for a day!
